a. The focal point for planning, implementing and reporting of the following activities: Provide professional direction to the lower levels, inspect, supervise, and provide technical assistance in the implementation of activities to prevent and combat environmental factors, climate change impacts on public health; protecting environment in health facilities, occupational sanitation, workers' health, occupational diseases, quality of drinking and domestic water, sanitation of household latrines; environment, school hygiene conditions, school diseases, school health; prevention of natural disasters, accidents and injuries.
b. Collaborate to provide information, communication; monitoring pathogens, risk factors; preventive treatment and management of public health; scientific research, international cooperation; application of related scientific and technical advances; training to improve professional and technical capacity in the field of environmental health, school health and occupational health.
c. Coordinate to provide the following services: Sampling and analysis of hazardous factors on occupational hygiene and environmental sanitation; physicochemical/microbiological testing on environmental sample, toxic chemical testing in humans, environmental monitoring, working environment monitoring, consulting, record making and implementing occupational heath examination, training and providing certification for occupational health and environmental testing for organizations and individuals as prescribed by law.
d. Perform other tasks assigned by the Director.
